The world’s fastest electric boat will be used in the aquaculture industry
Touching and overwhelming. This is how the entrepreneur Leif Stavøstrand describes the response to the plans to produce electric motors for boats.
He left his job as head of the oil base in Florø last year, and has started the company Evoy with his father.
– We now see that battery technology is good enough, says Stavøstrand in this podcast:
Evoy focuses on work boats in the aquaculture industry, and has joined forces with Helgeland’s Plast to test the electric motor on a Polarcirkel boat.
It was far from saying a firm and well-paid job.
– Ultimately, I ended up thinking “what if”. If I do not try this, I would always wonder what it could have been, says Stavøstrand.
Initially, there are high speed boats between 20 and 30 feet the company will deliver to.
